Despite pandemic, Governor Makinde released date for school resumption
Recall when coordinator of the Task Force on Coronavirus, Sani Aliyu maintained that schools should remain shut down while briefing on the circular released by the President that workers should resume work starting from Monday, May 4, 2020.

The Governor of Oyo state, Gov. Seyi Makinde assures that schools may resume by July 15 inspite of the uprising of the pandemic virus in the state.
The information was revealed during his visit at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State branch, in Agodi, Ibadan to mark this year's workers' day in a special programme organised by NLC.
Makinde says that the interrupted 2nd term will be maintained within the weeks of July, and the third term will kick off immediately.
So far the state has recorded 29 cases of which 20 out of 29 were active at the time of filling this information.
According to the Governor, he said he was chatting with some private school owners who complained about the closure of schools. Because of the locked down in the state, they couldn't pay teachers as children were forced to stay at home as a result of the pandemic in the country.
Makinde added that Parents should be aware that the idea of children been at home in this period should be considered as long vacation. Which means there would not be any long vacation anymore starting the next term.
Hopefully there is a drop-dead date of July 15, we all hope to complete two weeks of the 2nd term and then begin the 3rd term immediately.
